Sponsorship of Educational Events

NHS D&G has a new policy covering the sponsorship of educational events by the pharmaceutical industry.

The policy aims to ensure that only those products listed within the NHS D&G Joint Formulary are promoted at such events. To this end, the event organisers will be required to supply industry representatives with a contract which must be completed and returned to the organiser prior to the event. A copy of the contract must also be supplied to Paul Beardon, Head of Prescribing Management. There will random checks at events to ensure the policy is being adhered to.
