NHS Dumfries and Galloway Management of Infection: Antibiotic Guidance for Primary Care

The aim of this guidance is to provide prescribers with a simple, best guess approach to the treatment of common infections. By following the guidance, prescribers will be promoting the safe, effective and economic use of antibiotics while minimising the emergence of bacterial resistance in the community. It is based on the best available evidence, but its application must be modified by professional judgement.
